What can Ayurveda do for You?
Yoga is a well known, although often a misunderstood system of healing. Lesser known to the general public is this sister science of yoga, Ayurveda. Ayurveda literally meaning "longevity knowledge", is a native medical healing practice from India dating back to 5000 years ago. The principles of many healing systems, such as Homeopathy and Polarity Therapy, can trace their roots to this ancient and potent science. Based on the five element theory, similar to that of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda looks to create balance, vitality and longevity through healthy digestion, mind and the proper function of the bodies systems. Ayurveda incorporates yoga, meditation, diet, herbs, lifestyle recommendations, aromas, color, Pancha Karma and Body Therapies to restore the harmony of the individual, resulting in self-healing and vibrant health.
The Ayurvedic Spa
The Ayurvedic Spa is a place to relax and be nurtured. Using traditional Ayurvedic treatments, our intention is to restore your sense of balance and well-being. Whether you spend a day or a week at the Ayurvedic spa, you will leave more grounded and centered, with a renewed vigor and commitment to life. Spa therapies are for the purpose of rest, relaxation and rejuvenation. These nourishing treatments build up the immune systems and provide you with a fresh start as you complete each day of treatments.
Abhyanga
A one or two person choreographed warm oil massage that is designed to bring nourishment to the tissues, deep relaxation to the muscles and calmness to the mind. Because each body type is unique, the oil combinations are blended with specific herbs or essentials oils to meet your special needs.
Shirodhara
Shirodhara is a simple, yet profound treatment that works specifically on balancing and stabilizing the activity of the mind. Warm, dosha specific oils and herbs are beautifully steamed over the Ajna Chakra or third eye taking the participant on a journey deep within.
Svedana
Follow your warm oil massage with an exquisite herbal steam treatment that will leave you feeling clear, rejuvenated and deeply moisturized. Medicinal herbs like lavender, chamomile, bay leaf, eucalyptus, rosemary and lemongrass help clear the channels, relax the muscles and nurture the senses.
Pancha Karma
Pancha Karma is the Ayurvedic art of detoxification, purification, and rejuvenation, and is a powerful way to address the root cause of disease and has been used for thousands of years as a method for staying healthy, young, and vital.
According to Dr. Deepak Chopra M.D. ,"The value of Pancha Karma is that it offers systematic treatment for dislodging and flushing toxins from every cell, using the same organs of elimination that the body naturally employs -- sweat glands, blood vessels, the urinary tract and the intestines."
Pancha Karma is unlike any other detoxification program because it is fundamentally designed to remove a different form of toxin. While many toxins exist in our environment which accumulate and harm our bodies, Ayurvedic Pancha Karma addresses a special toxin called ama which is formed within our own bodies.
While anyone can book an appointment for Spa therapies, those wishing to receive Pancha Karma must have a referral from our practitioner. Thus, a complete evaluation is prerequisite to Pancha Karma. After a complete evaluation, a treatment plan is organized that includes your Pancha Karma procedures. You and your practitioners will discuss if Pancha Karma is indicated and if it is, how many days of treatment would be most appropriate.
"When we are OUT of balance, we crave that which keeps us OUT of balance. When we are IN balance, we crave that which keeps us IN balance"
